£3.1 Million UK Lottery Winner Buys Son 200 Cigarettes, Gets Sued

A lottery jackpot-winning dad in the UK didn’t make his grown son too happy with just what he purchased him with his winnings recently

Winning a lottery isn’t always because lucky them apart, it is the tale of William Robertson and his lottery jackpot-winning father, Alex Robertson as it appears based on mounds of empirical evidence and if ever there was evidence that money can take relationships and tear.

Alex, age 58 and from Scotland, was the lucky champion of a £3.1m ($4.8 million) Euromillions jackpot as part of a syndicate of 12 coach drivers, who all shared the;38m that is&pound$59 million) reward. But rather than sharing his fortune that is good with 35-year-od son William, the dad merely purchased him 200 cigarettes together with winnings. Understandably, their son was a little disgruntled at this action.

As a result, William wound up presumably harassing his dad through text messages as he demonstrably wanted over a few cigarettes. Perhaps a platinum that is nice would have done the trick?

Arrested Development

William Robertson was arrested after his father reported that the text messages had become threatening, but stepped free recently after Alex did not turn up at court to carry out of the fees. Fifty-five business school pupils missed their graduation that is own after away their tuition in Kampala, Uganda

Many schools and universities have codes of conduct that look down on students playing gambling activities. Therefore whilst the students of Makerere Business Institute (MBI) in Kampala, Uganda were most likely encouraged to invest their cash, doing this by betting on sports was not more likely to win them friends that are many the administration.

Students Gambled Away Tuition

A total of 55 students with MBI were forced to miss out on graduation ceremonies when they reportedly spent funds including some that were earmarked for their tuition on gambling and sports betting. The announcement by school principal Nathan Twesigye influenced his comments during the school’s recent graduation ceremony.

Twesigye was especially surprised to get that the gambling issue apparently affected a range that is diverse of.

‘ As you can see, girls have started gambling, which is quite strange,’ Twesigye said.

Gambling is quickly becoming business that is big Uganda. That may surprise observers that are many Africa, but those more familiar with the world can understand just why. The people of Uganda is young, enjoys sports, and at least in the capital city of Kampala benefits from being better educated and wealthier compared to the generations before them.
